Elijah's Boda Boda Loan Story
18.07.2024
Elijah Kiambati is a boda boda operator based at Githurai 45 round about. He knew about Mogo through a friend who told him that we are a company that gives boda boda loans and that he should go get one of his own.
The thing that motivated him to buy a boda boda from Mogo is that he had bought a second-hand boda boda from his father which was old and had a lot of issues. Customers would complain that it was not comfortable, it used to consume a lot of fuel and money from frequent visits to the garage for repairs and maintenance.
He bought a new boda boda that he can work with well, that is comfortable for customers and does not consume a lot of fuel. “Mogo really helped me because I was really suffering. Life was hard,” Elijah adds.
Elijah managed to pay for his first boda boda and has now bought a second one which he has given to another friend who pays some amount daily and can now earn a living. “I have had a good experience with Mogo. They have changed my life and my family. My child is in school and previously I used to struggle with paying school fees. After getting these two bikes, life has become easier, my children are in school, we can eat, and I can pay rent without a problem,” says Elijah.
He has also been able to do farming upcountry and build a house, and this has all happened after he took a boda boda loan from Mogo.
For the people who are employed and do not have their own boda bodas, they should go to Mogo and apply for a boda boda loan which does not take long, and you only need a little down payment. The repayment period is flexible, you can pay in 12 months, 18 months or 24 months, its up to you. The amount that you pay daily is reasonable and affordable, if you are motivated to own your boda boda. There is no need to be employed and pay the owner of the boda boda four or five hundred shillings per day and at the end of the day it is not yours.
